Sekilas tentang Canon EOS 550D
CANON EOS 550D / Digital Rebel T2i / Kiss X4
Pertama kali diperkenalkan pada tanggal 01 April 2010 dan merupakan evolusi di kelas kamera Single Lens Reflex (SLR) pemula. EOS 550D cukup menggemparkan dikalangan pengguna karena resolusi yang dimilikinya yaitu sebesar 18 megapiksel jarang dibenamkan pada kamera kelas pemula. Oleh karena itu 550D mendapatkan perhatian lebih dari para pengguna kamera.
Dibandingkan pendahulunya (EOS 500D), 550D memiliki beberapa perbaikan. Selain resolusi yang meningkat, Canon juga mengadopsi teknologi gapless micro lens, sebuah teknologi yang memungkinkan gambar direkam dengan detail yang sangat baik di resolusi tinggi namun tetap memiliki tingkat noise yang rendah. Teknologi sensor ini dengan baik disandingkan Canon bersama dengan cara pengukuran cahaya terbaru yang bisa mengevaluasi kondisi cahaya dalam 63 titik untuk meningkatkan akurasi saat pemotratan dilakukan.
Perbaikan lain yang juga tak kalah menarik adalah pada fitur perekam Video High Definition (HD). Jika EOS 500D cuma bisa merekam video beresolusi full HD pada 20 frame per detik, EOS 550D mampu merekam video dengan resolusi serupa pada 24, 25 dan 30 frame per detik. Di resolusi yang lebih rendah, 720p atau VGA misalnya, 550D bahkan mampu merekam 50 sampai 60 frame per detik.
Canon masih mengandalkan DIGIC 4 sebagai prosesor gambar pda EOS 550D. Cuma saja kemampuan pada mode pengambilan gambar kontinyu (burst) di kamera ini lebih tinggi, yakni 3,7 frame per detik. Sekadar pembanding, kecepatan EOS 500D saat mengambil gambar still secara terus menerus berkisar pada 3,4 frame per detik.
